Sukie

Editor, Stars Reach Hub

Sukie is the editor and sole writer of Stars Reach Hub. She has played and followed sandbox MMOs for over a decade, going back to the Star Wars Galaxies and Ultima Online lineage that Stars Reach draws from, and has spent the last two years tracking Playable Worlds' development posts, playtest build notes and community reporting. She writes the buying verdicts, the mechanics explainers and the troubleshooting pages on this site, and is responsible for every fact-check on it.

Why this site exists

Stars Reach entered paid Steam Early Access on 18 August 2026, and within days the internet had more guides about it than the game had documented systems. A great deal of what is circulating was written during the pre-alpha period and is already out of date — official posts from 2024 still call the mining tool an “extractor” when the live build calls it the Terraformer. Some of it is simply invented: confident species rosters, tool quality tiers and profession tier lists that could not be traced back to anything Playable Worlds has actually published.

That is a predictable thing to happen around a new game, and it is genuinely harmful. A player reading an invented guide wastes hours optimising something that does not work the way the guide claims. Worse, in a game with opt-in PvP and permanent consequences, bad information can cost someone real effort or real safety in-world.

This site is an attempt at the opposite: a small number of pages, each one sourced, each one explicit about the difference between what has been published and what has been inferred, and each one willing to say “this has not been documented yet” instead of filling the gap.

What we will not do

Three commitments, because they are the ones most often broken by sites in this category.

We will not invent specifics. No species stats, no tool quality tiers, no weapon damage numbers, no profession tier lists, and no roadmap dates unless Playable Worlds has published them. Several pages on this site have sections that exist purely to say that something is undocumented — the character creation page and the crafting guide both do this deliberately.

We will not pretend a rough game is fine. Stars Reach is at 51% positive on Steam with server problems its own developers have publicly acknowledged, and the concurrent population is small. Our buying verdict tells most readers to wait, which is not the advice a site optimising for engagement would give.

We will not present old information as current. Official deep-dive posts from 2024 remain the best source for understanding why a system is designed the way it is. They are not reliable for current terminology, numbers or tool names. We check official material against launch-build footage precisely because that drift is everywhere, and where the two disagree we say so on the page.

Who writes it

One person writes everything here. Sukie is the editor and sole writer, and is responsible for every fact-check on the site. There is no contributor network, no syndicated content and no guest posts.

That is a deliberate constraint rather than a limitation we are apologising for. A small site written by one person who actually reads the source material is more useful than a large one assembled from summaries of summaries — which is, at the moment, most of what exists about this game.

For privacy reasons the byline here is a first name only, and this site does not link to personal social media accounts. Editorial responsibility for everything published sits with the person named above.

How we use AI

We use AI tools for research assistance and drafting, and every page is edited, fact-checked and approved by a human before publication. AI is not permitted to supply facts about the game — it organises material that came from named, verifiable sources.

This matters more than usual for a game this new. A language model asked about a title released three weeks ago will produce fluent, confident, entirely fabricated content: invented characters, invented mechanics, invented item names. Our editorial process page explains the specific checks that exist to prevent that reaching a published page.

Independence and affiliation

Stars Reach Hub is an unofficial fan site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Playable Worlds, Inc., and it has no commercial relationship with the studio. Stars Reach and all related marks are the property of their respective owners.

We earn nothing from any purchase you make. There are no affiliate links on this site, including on the pages that discuss whether to buy the game and which founder pack to choose. That is precisely why those pages are comfortable recommending the cheapest tier, telling you to skip the middle one entirely, and advising most readers to wait rather than buy at all.

Any future change to how this site is funded will be disclosed here and on the pages affected, before it takes effect.

Corrections

If something on this site is wrong, we want to know and we will fix it. Games in Early Access change weekly, and a page that was accurate at publication can be wrong after a patch. That is the normal condition of writing about a live game rather than an excuse.

Every page carries a “last reviewed” date that reflects when a person actually re-read it against the live build — not an automatic timestamp regenerated on every deploy. When a correction changes something material, we update the page and the date together. You can reach us through the contact page.
